Those with luxurious lifestyles are a key target market for the Copenhagen-based firm, but an interest in golf is not a necessity, according to co-founder Anders Lynge. "A great part of our cars are also bought by people who don't play golf," Lynge told CNN. "They are just in a holiday house."

Though Garia's cars are a similar size to any traditional golf cart, an enlarged cabin and a number of "visual tricks" help to create the illusion of a far larger vehicle.

At the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Garia Mansory Prism was unveiled, a one-off model capable of accelerating to 40 kilometers per hour in under two seconds, thanks to Samsung lithium batteries and a collaboration with German Bugatti supplier Kussmaul.

In 2016, Garia sold a fleet of 101 six-seater courtesy vehicles to the Jumeirah Group, a hotel chain with a series of five star resorts on Dubai's beach front. The designs were inspired by the UAE's heritage and culture, and all cars came fitted with built-in refrigerators.
