Friedel chases Champions League —
Brad Friedel is 40 years old and has been playing in the English Premier League since 1997 -- but he is yet to make an appearance in the European Champions League.

Ever present —
Friedel moved to Tottenham from Aston Villa last June and has continued his record of not missing a Premier League game since May 2004.

Blackburn goalscorer —
During his eight seasons at Blackburn Rovers, Friedel became one of a select few goalkeepers to have scored a goal in the Premier League -- although his team lost 3-2 to Charlton in the February 2004 match.

USA's Mr. Reliable —
Friedel made 82 appearances for the United States and appeared at the 1998 and 2002 World Cups before ending his international career in 2005.

Back in the USA —
One of the stars as the U.S. reached the quarterfinals at the 2002 World Cup, Friedel is looking forward to returning to his home country with Tottenham for a preseason tour this year.

Liverpool chance —
After several attempts to sign for an English club were thwarted by work permit issues, Friedel made his top-flight debut for Liverpool in February 1998.

Early promise —
Friedel was named Major League Soccer's goalkeeper of the year during his only full season with the Columbus Crew in 1997.

Starting out —
Friedel made his first appearance for the United States national team in 1992 against Canada at the age of 21 and competed at the Olympics in Barcelona that year.
