Tessa Worley is the current leader in the World Cup giant slalom standings with two wins and two second places in five races.

The only time she has not finished in the top two this season is at October's season opener in Solden (pictured.)

Understandably, there has been plenty of reason to celebrate going into 2017.

And this season Worley feels she is back to the sort of form she showed before a fall in 2013.

She damaged her anterior cruciate ligaments in her knee and was out for more than six months. She admits she struggled to regain her confidence.

The 2013 campaign was capped by her being crowned world champion and she has shown a repeat of that form this season.

But when not tackling the world's best slopes, Worley is also a sergeant in the French Army.

She was snapped up by the military back in 2008 as a result of her form on the global circuit.

But she is not about to be deployed to conflict, although she has tested herself in training alongside French Special Forces.

Her biggest rival for giant slalom success is US golden girl Mikaela Shiffrin, with both skiers set to go for victory at this weekend's World Cup in Maribor.
