Joe Burrow threw for five touchdowns and ran for a sixth, leading the LSU Tigers to a 42-25 win over Clemson in college football's championship game.
Monday night's victory caps an undefeated season for LSU, and it gives the Tigers their first national title since 2007.
It also puts an exclamation point on an incredible season for Burrow, who won the Heisman Trophy in a landslide last month. He had eight touchdowns in the semifinal game against Oklahoma.
Clemson, the defending champions, had won 29 straight games going back to 2018. This was the fourth time in five seasons that Clemson played in the national title game.
