The Beijing Winter Olympics are in the books.

Sunday's closing ceremony wrapped up an action-packed Games filled with memorable moments.

In figure skating, the United States' Nathan Chen was crowned the new men's champion, setting a world record in the short program and closing the deal with an impressive free skate. The women's event, however, was marred by a doping controversy and ended in tears for many of the top skaters.

History was made on the speedskating oval, as American Erin Jackson became the first Black woman to win an individual medal in the sport, according to Team USA, and the Netherlands' Ireen Wüst became the first athlete to win an individual gold in five separate Olympics.

During these Games, we said goodbye to snowboarding legend Shaun White and hello to freeski superstar Eileen Gu. White finished fourth on the halfpipe in his fifth and final Olympics, while the 18-year-old Gu won three medals in her debut for China.

Norway won the most medals in these Olympics (37) and set a new record for most golds won by one country in one year (16).
